Hello, fellow deviants! Nick Turner here! 
Originally, my creative outlet of choice was drawing, and I aspired to become an animator. That dream hasn't changed, but I do more writing than drawing these days.
For the most part, I'll be posting chapters from my fledgeling science fiction novel, "The Children of Nexus". I'd also like to try and post some artwork, but I'm a bit rusty and will probably need some practice in that area.
I'm always looking to improve, so any feedback on the work I post here will be greatly appreciated! Of course, if you want to stop in just to say hi, that's perfectly fine too.

I've redesigned the Verdrak insignia (the symbol of their race/empire), and have made changes to the paragraphs in Chapter 3 where it's first introduced. I've also posted an image of the new design

Title Tweak

Made a small change to the story's title; it now reads "The Children of Nexus" (so basically, I just moved "the" to a different spot). This may seem like a pointless change, but there is a good reason for it. Unfortunately, I'm not far enough into the story to reveal what that reason is.

In part two of the prologue and in chapter 4, there are brief mentions of CoTN's version of hyperspace travel. It was originally called an "astro-jump", but I thought that sounded kind of corny, and at the time, I intended it to simply be faster-than-light travel.
[POSSIBLE SPOILER]
It now involves the creation of inter-dimensional pathways, and the use of those pathways is referred to as a "traversal". I realize that name might seem a little...plain compared to "warp speed" or "hyperspace", but trying to come up with a cool-sounding name kind of backfired. I'm opting for a "less is more" approach this time around.
